As Co-Founder and Chief Compliance Officer at Adasina, Maya leads the firm’s compliance strategy, supports the growth and development of its people through mentorship, and has helped shape the firm’s culture since its founding. Guiding Adasina’s evolution with care and rigor, grounded in a vision for finance that aligns with movements for racial, gender, economic, and climate justice.
Maya is a graduate of Antioch College, where she earned her degree in Cultural Studies. Before co-founding Adasina, she served as Chief Financial Officer of a family real estate limited partnership and worked as a financial advisor at Ameriprise and Robasciotti & Philipson. She holds the Series 7 (General Securities Representative Examination) and Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Examination) licenses and has served on the Board of Directors of the National Center for Lesbian Rights as well as a Strategic Advisor to Abacus Wealth Partners.
Outside of work, Maya is an avid tea drinker who lives among an abundance of happy houseplants and cares for Astrid, a hypoallergenic cat who also serves as the firm’s mascot and Chief Feline Officer.
