Adasina Social Capital and ETC Group hosted a panel to explore the far-reaching consequences of Extractive Agriculture on both people and the planet. From the acceleration of climate change to the endangerment of the rights of women and girls, economically disadvantaged people, and BIPOC communities, the panel will discuss and spread awareness around the racial, gender, economic and climate repercussions of this extractive “food chain” model of agriculture. Ultimately, through this panel, we aim to mitigate the harms of Extractive Agriculture by mobilizing investors to address the issue.
